Our vision is to deliver places to live and space to grow for our current and future residents and we aim to provide homes and build communities our residents are proud to live in, with better support to sustain a successful tenancy and manage life changes.

Its an exciting time to join West Kent. Across the business we are challenging ourselves to do more and as part of this we are modernising our services and how we work.

This role is part of the Executive Team and as Finance Director you will provide the strategic vision for our financial planning and investment decisions to ensure the long term financial strength and viability of West Kent as we pursue our Strategic Plan ambitions. You don’t need to come from the social housing sector - we are genuinely only interested in your skills, ability and your passion to make a difference.

We need someone who can work with the senior leadership team to lead and manage ambitious change, whilst demonstrating the values and customer focus that have built our exceptional reputation. You will have a proven track record in leading finance, including the planning and delivery of financial, treasury and risk strategies in a successful organisation. You will think commercially and be skilled at developing productive long term strategic partnerships. You will influence and work effectively with boards, committees, customer panels and stakeholder groups and you will understand the requirements of working in a regulated sector. Applicants must be a fully qualified accountant and be able to evidence continuing professional development.

We are determined to build a diverse senior leadership team, reflective of the communities we serve, and comprising people who bring a broad mix of different skills and perspectives. We are keen to attract applicants from the broadest possible range of backgrounds. If you are passionate about the role a housing association can play in society and believe the values of an organisation are what makes it special, then this exciting role with West Kent is for you.

The role will be based in our newly updated offices in Sevenoaks, with a hybrid working pattern of working from home and flexible working arrangements for all staff.

We offer a great package including a staff benefits scheme, discounted medical treatments, generous leave, paid time off to volunteer, a wellbeing grant and, of course, a fantastic team of people to work with.

To apply please can you:

  • Submit an up-to-date CV, including your current package
  • Enhance your application with a personal statement
  • Complete the combined Declaration and Equal Opportunities Data form (a word version of this form is attached separately)
  • Provide contact details for 2 professional referees, one of which is your current or most recent employer. References will only be sought with agreement of the appointee
  • Let us know if you cannot make any dates in the outline recruitment timetable.
