Fire Safety Surveyor


Full time (37.5 hpw), Fixed term contract for 18-months initially

Salary circa: £39,000 which is negotiable based on skills and experience.

In this brilliant role, you’ll be responsible for fire related improvement works in our properties using Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), and responding promptly to actions identified, specifying works required to correct standards. You’ll manage on site works to successful completion through pre and post inspection, delivered in accordance with Building Regulations, good practice and fire safety standards.

Our customers experience will always be at the heart of everything you do, acting quickly when things go wrong, taking ownership and being accountable to put things ‘right first time’ through collaborative working.

You’ll be RICS or CIOB accredited with a Building Surveying degree or similar qualification. You will have worked in a surveyor role or similar technical property maintenance team, with knowledge of building construction, repairs and safety.

You'll have brilliant experience and working knowledge of surveying, specifying and managing fire risk works from remedial repairs, maintenance and improvement works through to more complex works.  This will include fire door replacements, compartmentation upgrades, fire alarm, emergency lighting systems and associated active/passive fire precautions.

We need you to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle which you will be able to claim your business miles back on.

About our team
You’ll be working as part of our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a first-class maintenance solution to our customers.  Our Maintenance Director is Paul, who has previously worked in contact centres and maintenance environments for the past 14 years. Outside of work, he enjoys a hectic social life and when not cooking, is planning his next trip with his wife Victoria!

You be be working for David, our Maintenance and Contract Manager who has worked for Home Group for 5 years having previously worked in other compliance-based roles.  You will work as part of a local team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Where you will work
You will have specific responsibility for our properties within our South West region covering Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and into Devon and Cornwall. 

The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.
