Clinical Expert – Occupational Therapist

Permanent

Full Time (37.5 hpw)

£50,000 - £55,000 per annum (plus mileage for travel)

Hybrid working: National role with regular travel.  Can be based from any of our national regional offices and working from home.

As our clinical expert and central lead for our Occupational Therapists across Home Group, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to make your mark ensuring that all practice is provided within legal, professional and ethical boundaries and enables brilliant outcomes for our customers.

As senior leader, you’ll guide and clinically supervise our OT’s who are based across the UK, overseeing practice, interventions and managing any clinical risks.  This is a fantastic role where you can really influence national service design and delivery, shaping and extending the boundaries of excellence in our OT practice, working in collaboration with Lindsay, our Head of Clinical Practice.

An expert in your field, you’ll coach and upskill our clinical and operational teams through expert OT advice, training, clinical supervision and reflective practice to enhance their delivery of care.  You’ll also be our lead for escalations, ensuring interventions support all practitioners and enable our teams to provide person centred care for our customers.  We support our customers who have a wide range of complex needs including learning disabilities, autism, a diagnosis of mental health conditions, personality disorders, communication differences, alongside ongoing physical health conditions.  They may also have a forensic background and support needs related to their behaviour.

About you
It goes without saying that you’ll be an experienced specialist in Occupational Therapy and an expert practitioner, holding relevant professional qualifications and registration with HCPA.  With extensive experience and knowledge in contemporary OT practice, you’ll will have worked with a wide variety of customers across the full range of clinical severity, including customers with complex support needs.

You’ll have a brilliant background in providing clinical supervision and unleashing the potential of colleagues through your clinical advice, support and training.  You’ll also bring service design experience, successfully transitioning new practice into local service delivery.  

An Enhanced Disclosure Check will be required for this role. The great news is that we'll pay for this to be done if you don't have a transferable one.    

Where you’ll work
The role will involve regular national travel so you must be willing to travel and work from our different services and offices, with hybrid working from home too!  We have services across the UK including Leeds, Hull, Kent, Swindon, Birmingham, St Albans and growing this year in Norfolk and Surrey.  With more locations over the coming year. We’ll therefore need you have a current driving licence and access to a vehicle.   

You’ll participate in our on-call system as a senior point of escalation, on a rotation.
