Job Details

A vacancy has arising in our Developer team for a Development Manager with a technical focus. The main duties for this role are as follows:

The Role

  • Ensuring the Delivery Team delivers a programme of new build homes in line with the Developer Business Plan and wider strategic targets.
  • Supporting the New Business Function in site appraisals – driving efficiencies and deliverability within the contractual arrangements, ensuring technical standards and specifications are included and adhered too, whilst ensuring these are in line with Sales and business plan needs.
  • Responsibility for the delivery and contractual performance monitoring of the development programme across all tenures.
  • To build relationships with key partners that will support the Trust in delivering new build homes, including Local Authorities, Warranty providers, specialist consultants and new technology groups .
  • Ensuring compliance across the programme, overseeing audits both internal and external, legal and technical approvals, Building Safety Standards, Building Warranty Standards. Maintaining high quality data sets and project files at all times.
  • Developing, updating and embedding policies, procedures and strategies that relate to the Developer Business Plan and Corporate priorities to ensure best practice. Driving improvements in the Groups specifications and Technical requirements.
  • Managing and reporting on budgets, legals and technical approvals, programme information at an individual and programme level on a monthly basis in line with internal procedures.
  • Ensuring that internal and external customer views are used to develop and deliver high quality homes and excellent customer service.
  • Programme management of the sales programme along with Sales Managers to ensure that timely, accurate information is shared and legal packs complete. Ensuring customer satisfaction and targets achieved.
  • Ensuring the Developer Team handover all developments in line with the scheme handover process driving quality and accountability through the team and contractors.
  • Driving accountability through the team, providing leadership, training and support to achieve programme, budget and quality targets.
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the external environment and identify areas of best practice that can be applied to Developer, ensuring that the team is kept up to date on housing and development changes

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous proven contract management experience
  • RICs qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working the Housing Development field
  • Proven Project Management experience
  • A clear understanding of the technical and legal requirements for new build properties under planning and building regulations
  • Proven team leadership and training skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable history of relationship building
  • Proficient IT skills

Some travel is required for this role and therefore a full, clean driving license and access to a car is essential in this role.
