We are looking for an Income Management Specialist (1 post) to join our Income & Financial Inclusion team in Merseyside.
Reporting to the Income Management Team Leader, you will monitor rent accounts and follow procedure to ensure income is collected promptly. You will work alongside tracing agencies and debt recover agents to ensure income from former and sundry debtors is maximised. You will ensure customers and former customers are contacted at the appropriate times to secure rent payments and to address increasing arrears. As part of your role you will process court applications and ensure compliance with pre-action protocols and Equality Act requirements.
To be successful you will have experience of managing rent accounts, preferably in the social housing sector, with an awareness of Income Management Procedures and Law. You will have good organisation skills and the ability to communicate effectively, with colleagues at all levels and customers from a diverse background.
You will have a good understanding of key housing legislation, best practise, as well as current welfare benefits and be familiar with County Court rules and procedures, relevant government legislation for dealing with debt and have experience of presenting cases in court.

This role is home based and there is no requirement to attend the office daily, but you will be required to attend neighbourhoods and/or sites as required to fulfil duties of the role.
