This role is currently based from home due to COVID 19 until further notice. Peabody plans to move to a hybrid model of working which means that once our office refurbishment has been completed, the role will be part office (Waterloo) and part home based.

We're looking for a talented internal communications officer to join our team. This is a busy role at a time of intense organisational change as we evolve to deliver more for our customers and communities. You will be a whizz with words, with an ability to craft human and engaging stories from complex information. You will also have a great understanding of social media, and manage employee communities online to encourage our teams to connect with each other, share ideas, successes and knowledge.

Role specific responsibilities

  • To develop a range of internal communications content both on and offline to engage employees in our values, vision and priorities.

  • Help to embed our new social network, Workplace from Facebook as a key tool for employees to connect and collaborate.
  • To work with colleagues in the communications team to identify, interpret and reposition important messages for employees, ensuring consistency with our external messages.

  • To ensure that internal communications service is customer-focused, monitoring and evaluating outcomes and responding to feedback.

  • Assist in managing our employee-focused intranet; drafting content and advising teams on best ways to raise their profile and share successes.
  • Assist with managing internal events to engage employees, including running training workshops for our intranet publishers. 

Skills/experience required:

  • Excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear, compelling, content and messages for a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise channels and best practice in writing for the web
  • Creative thinker, and proven ability to develop communications which stand out and get results.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and good proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to lead workshops/training.
  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy.
