Job Title:    Income Collection Officer (Rents) x 2
Location:    2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale
Salary:        Circa £30,692
:          1 x Permanent
                   1 x fixed term contract (12 Months)
Hours:        37.5 per week

The Barnet Group is currently seeking to recruit an 2 Income Collection Officer (Rents). The role will report into the Income Collection Manager (Rents) and will work closely with Barnet Homes, Opendoor Homes and temporary accommodation customers. 

About the role:

Barnet Homes is responsible for tenancy management and income collection for 15,000 residents and is one of London’s largest boroughs. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join the Income Collection Service.  You will be responsible for rent collection, tenancy sustainment and income maximisation. 

We are looking for someone that can provide great customer service and make a real difference to our customers’ lives.  Whilst working within the Income Collection Service, you will be required to network and work across teams as well as develop relationships with our external partners.  The ability to resolve complex arrears cases, without eviction is key to the service we provide and you must be able to demonstrate your ability to problem solve, work flexibly be innovative and self-motivated.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and attributes:

Excellent communicators who will give clear and concise advice to customers

  • Good listeners who will be empathetic when helping customers facing challenging personal circumstances
  • Quick learners who will be motivated to take ownership of their workload and think innovatively to find solutions for their customers’ needs
  • Knowledge of the housing sector or housing law is desired but not essential

Currently the Income Collection Service is located at 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale.
