This role
This is a Care Manager role in an established service supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. On a day to day basis you will manage shifts. You will be managing and leading a team of care & support workers in service. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory and business requirements, while delivering excellent, personalised, value for money services to customers.
The primary objective of the service is to ensure that we are providing a safe and warm environment where customers can thrive and remain independent. The team offer support that prompts and encourages each customer to complete daily tasks on their own and to the best of their ability. The team leader is key to promoting this positive behaviour in the team and be a key member of staff.
This role requires shift work including weekends and bank holidays, but no sleep-ins. You will be required to undertake both admin work and providing support to customers.
What you will need to succeed
This is a first step into managing people and you will need to demonstrate the ability to lead by example. Previous management experience would be desirable, in addition to managing difficult conversations. In addition you will be able to manage your time effectively and have a clear understanding of risk management and safeguarding.
