A bit about the role...

Working in a team with the Project Director Ian Gray and Senior Development Manager Stephanie Hiscott you will play a critical role in delivering this 45-hectare city centre mixed use redevelopment. You will be joining our small but highly skilled and experienced team, who are committed to making positive change in how the city of York develops over the next 15 years.

 

The existing project team is dedicated to deliver an amazing sustainable community as a new quarter to the historic city centre. We are determined to resolve any problems informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to maximising the development’s opportunities. The project team believes in working in a collaborative way to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.

 

This is a rare chance to shape the future development of a major city in fast growing, national organisations with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and professional internal and external teams, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective delivery of infrastructure and development phases and the have the opportunity to help create up to 2,500 homes and 1.2 million sq. feet of commercial space.

 

The role will support the design and delivery of the York Central project. This is  an exciting and rewarding project to get involved with and is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions.

A bit about you…

Whilst your day job is to deliver a unique mixed-use scheme for our partners and stakeholders in York, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

 

You'll be comfortable supporting the Project Team through complex implementation issues, aiming to drive forward a complex mixed-use development scheme. You will be proficient in managing commercial and residential scheme delivery.

 

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a Project team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

 

As an experienced development professional, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues – meaning people are struggling to find homes.
