About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Multi Skilled Electrician to work within our Property Services department alongside our gas and general building trades teams. You will be responsible for working autonomously on a day to day basis and undertaking maintenance and repairs either at our care homes, residential properties or offices.

You will be typically:

  • Replacing and repairs works to sockets, switches and fans to ensure resident properties and offices are safe and legally compliant
  • Installing automated doors systems, kitchen replacements, partial re-wires to ensure residents in care are safe and the home is legally compliant
  • Undertaking bathroom modifications, boiler installations, fans etc to ensure legal compliance and that all of properties are fit for purpose
  • Office repairs - – replacement and repairs to sockets, switches and fans
  • Cyclical maintenance – conduct 5yr fixed wire testing, undertake full conditions reports (live and dead testing), emergency lift testing, fire alarm testing and repairs to ensure legal and health and safety compliance.

We are welcoming a full fleet of new Hi spec Vehicles, which are expected in early 2022.

A full Makita power tools kit as well as quality work wear will be provided.

We want to make sure that everyone, including our residents and staff, are kept safe and have extensive safety and infection control measures in place, throughout our working environments.

Additionally, it is legislation from 11 November 2021, that everyone who works in a residential or nursing care home or needs to enter a residential care setting to carry out their role, must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Consequently, ensuring this requirement is met forms part of our recruitment and selection process, where applicable.

About you:

You will hold a City & Guilds 2381 (18th edition or equivalent) and have experience in electrical works, particularly maintenance, repair and modernisation to properties. You must also have good customer service skills and a clean driving licence and be comfortable working on a mobile job allocation device.

In this varied role there will be opportunities to progress within the department, lead on projects as well as access to training courses in order to develop your skills.
