Peabody is currently looking for a full-time, permanent experienced Tree Officer to manage delivery of tree services to its stock across London Boroughs and counties.

As part of this role you will be required to:

  • To manage and monitor the performance of external contractors delivering Peabody’s tree management programme
  • Be the 1st point of contact for all tree related enquiries from staff, customers and external agencies
  • To provide technical expertise and written reports as required both internally and externally
  • Arrange and manage the tree budget to ensure the tree management programme is delivered in a timely, cost effective manner
  • To establish, develop and maintain working relationships with all local authorities
  • Maintain and update tree works detail and surveys on CONFIRM
  • Promote public awareness of trees to improve knowledge, care and appreciation
  • Comment on landscape design projects

The successful candidate with have:

  • Relevant degree / Foundation degree or Diploma / Certificate (to level 3 or above) with at least 2 years surveying experience.
  • An understanding of trees and their management in the public realm, including a sound knowledge of related legislation, codes of practise and risk management.
  • The post holder will be expected to have and maintain a sound working knowledge of I.T. systems including GIS, tree survey software i.e. Confirm Arb, and other relevant technology systems to enable effective delivery of all services.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
