We are currently looking for a Fire Safety Officer to join our Building Safety Asset and Compliance team. You’ll be our competent person in relation to fire safety under the relevant legislation as well as being the lead officer on fire safety, ensuring that we meet our statutory fire safety obligations.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining programmes to ensure our properties are assessed for fire risks and reviewed as regular intervals

  • Carry out and audit fire risk assessments and reviews

  • Make recommendations on fire safety protective and preventative measures

  • Comment on plans for new developments, advising on specifications for fire precaution measures

  • Liaising with contractors

  • Developing the fire safety policy, procedures and standards

  • Liaising with consulting with fire safety regulators to ensure that we are complying with statutory obligations

We’d love to meet someone with: 

  • Extensive experience from within a legislative fire safety enforcement or fire risk assessment environment

  • Experience of carrying out or auditing fire risk assessments

  • A full understanding of the legislation, codes of practice and guidance applicable to fire safety within housing

  • A recognised fire risk assessment qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

  • The following fire safety courses at the Fire Service College (or equivalent training) - Fire Safety Foundation Theory / Practical and Fire Safety Legislation and Risk Assessment Auditing
