Working in the Housing Supply team you will have responsibility for managing the team’s development programme.  We have a target to deliver and identify 2,000 homes by 2022 as an initial programme and increasing this in future years.

You will source and appraise development opportunities from inception, establish and allocate funding from a variety of sources including RTB receipts, S.106, HRA borrowing and GLA grant to produce a deliverable programme.  You will have a focus on providing value for money whilst prioritising schemes against financial viability criteria.  You should have experience of, and be adept, at using development appraisal tools such as Proval, Argus or similar.  To accompany this, you should have excellent financial skills and be fully conversant with Excel.

The role involves working closely and collaboratively within the Housing Supply team and colleagues in the Capital Delivery Team, Finance, Asset Management, Planning and Tower Hamlets Homes as well external partners such as the GLA and housing associations.  Communicating and engaging with others is key to the success of delivering homes for those in housing need and an excellent understanding of housing and local government is essential.

The programme has a wide range of schemes and projects, with the largest of these, the estate regeneration of Harriott, Apsley and Pattison Houses seeking to provide over 400 new homes.  Other homes are being provided by smaller schemes that are on site or out to tendered.  More are in the pipeline awaiting appraisal and funding.

You will work closely with the Head of Housing Supply and represent the team and department at internal and external meetings.
