Job Details

We are recruiting for a qualified Electrician who takes pride on the quality of their work to join a forward thinking & growing housing association, making a real difference to people’s lives.

You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. Yes, we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and make it possible for current and future customers to have a place they’re proud to call home but we’re also all about making a positive difference in people’s lives.

What you’ll be doing?

Working with our Planned Investment Team, you’ll carry out refurbishment work to kitchen and bathrooms in tenanted properties.  Part of your role will be to ensure all installations, repairs and inspections are carried out efficiently and within timescales to maximise the performance of the service and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You’ll also be using your own initiative, resolve where practical any minor/routine technical difficulties on site but also working as part of a team liaising with other trades, HomeWorks administration and suppliers.

The stuff that sets you apart

This role would suit someone who is very focused on Customer Care and Experience whilst  delivering the best results and creating trust with our customers.

Additionally, the role requires a fully qualified Electrician with relevant experience and qualifications.  You will ideally have City & Guilds Level 3 (or recognised equivalent qualification), City & Guilds 2382 (18th edition) , NVQ in Electro technical Services & AM2 Certification.

You'll also have a valid UK driving licence. Please see the attached role profile for further information.

What’s in it for you?

In return we offer £30,319 per annum for 37.5 hours per week role with no fixed location. You'll be expected to travel also across the entire Yorkshire region for the role but a lot of the work is likely to be in the Central and South of the region.

We also provide a fantastic reward package to suit everyone –a variety of amazing discounts via PerkBox, a great Healthcare cash plan called Health Shield and a contributory pension scheme where we will match your contributions up to 9%!  As well as our great benefits and a fantastic work environment, we’re absolutely a company that cares about its employees and its customers.

The finer print

If you are applying for this role internally you must inform your current line manager.

If a competitive candidate pool is identified, we reserve the right to close the role early therefore, we would encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.

We are Yorkshire Housing by name and Yorkshire is our focus. We own and manage nearly 20,000 homes – and are developing thousands more.

  • Adapt homes to match the needs of our customers
  • Carry out repairs and replace items before things go wrong
  • Provide antisocial behaviour support
