Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) is one of the largest locally based housing organisations in the East Midlands.  Established in 1973, we house more than 20,000 people and manage 10,000 homes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

We’re building new homes all the time – we work with 19 local authorities to build new affordable homes that meet the needs of people in their area. This includes homes for sale, rent, shared ownership and everything in between.

With a warm smile and a great track record of delivering projects, you will have experience of working in property development in a residential and/or commercial environment, and be educated to degree level/or relevant professional qualification with current knowledge of building development processes.

You will demonstrate outstanding project management and problem solving abilities and have excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills.

You will also be familiar with the use of Microsoft spreadsheets, databases and other IT applications to retrieve and manipulate complex data.

Does this sound like you?

Reporting to the Development and New Business Manager, your duties and responsibilities will vary day to day but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinating, progressing and delivering new development projects for affordable housing for NCHA and external clients.
  • Liaising with staff, contractors, consultants and local authorities to ensure the effective delivery of new homes in accordance with NCHA’s development procedures and developing partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Negotiating with owners for land acquisition in consultation with NCHA’s solicitors.
  • Managing the capital budgets of schemes against approved budgets, agreed targets and grant administration systems of the Homes England or other bodies.
  • Keeping manual and computerised record updated regularly.
  • Negotiating with developers, builders and other statutory bodies.
     

A valid driving licence and access to a car is essential as you will be required to cover projects in the East Midlands and attend external stakeholder and building site meetings.
