Thanks to the acquisition by L&Q, THT now have the resources to make an even bigger difference. The North West Foundation is here to enhance the social impact of THT by developing and funding additional activities, projects and services to meet customer need. We do this through supporting local community organisations, developing new internal services and increasing our partnership working with other organisations.

We now have a temporary maternity cover position available until December 2022.

Our Community Support Coaches provide support to organisations serving communities where THT customers live, whose goals align with the NW Foundation’s priorities. The Community Support Coach will enable Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations to grow, build sustainability and resilience and to achieve their goals. Engagement will be through coaching based one-to-one or group sessions which will empower VCFSE organisations in accessing funding from THT or other sources; to strengthen their structure, offer and social impact.

This role requires travel in the community, the ability to drive / owning a car would be desirable.

The Role

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Build and manage a caseload of customers; delivering bespoke coaching-based interventions that enable VCFSE organisations to achieve greater social impact and sustainability.
  • Provide funding advice, bid-writing support and project support to organisations seeking investment from both THT and external funders.
  • Support organisations to implement quality monitoring & evaluation frameworks that enable them to fully demonstrate the impact of their work.
  • Support VCFSE organisations to build their own networks and connections in pursuance of achieving their goals.
  • Develop and deliver face to face and virtual learning opportunities, such as workshops and events targeted at VCFSE organisations and aiming to meet identified needs and development opportunities.
  • Undertake audits and scrutinise data provided by funded organisations to ensure requirements of grant agreements are met.
  • Provide insight to the NW Foundation Community Grants Panel, to enable them to make well informed decisions; attending panel meetings when required.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of social issues relevant to NW Foundation priorities and local gaps in provision. Support organisations to respond to those needs.

The person

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven track record in community capacity building and may have recognised relevant vocational or professional qualification.
