Southway Housing Trust is a Community based housing organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that we work in. Southway Housing Trust is a "not-for-profit" landlord, based in Didsbury, managing and improving approximately 6,000 homes in South Manchester and Tameside.

Our Tenancy Support Team have developed an innovative way of working with people affected by hoarding behaviours called "Tidy Homes Tidy Minds" which we deliver across the North West in partnership with other housing and social care organisations and private householders.

Would you like to help make a real and positive difference to people's lives? You will be working with people in their homes, to help them manage their hoarding behaviours and improve their living conditions and property. You will be:

* Providing practical and often hands on support which will include helping people to organise their personal belongings and helping them to move, clear and dispose of items.
* You will have experience of carrying out risk assessments and have an understanding of hoarding behaviours and the effects that this may have on the individual and from a health and tenancy compliance perspective.
* You will need to have an understanding of working in a trauma-informed and person centred way.
* You will be able to support tenants on your caseload with things like budgeting, household cleanliness, sourcing low cost household items etc.
* You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work with compassion and understanding with our people helping them to live independently and feel part of their local community.
* You will be able to work effectively in partnerships with statutory agencies and charities to maximise the support available to our people.
