Who we are looking for

We`re looking for someone who:

  • has a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • is experienced in managing a large fixed asset database and has a sound understanding of the accounting requirements relating to them (IFRS, SORP)
  • has good working knowledge of VAT legislation and experience of creating VAT returns
  • is able to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve consistently high levels of performance.
  • has excellent communication skills to effectively present to senior staff on complex financial issues

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an enthusiastic and `can-do` attitude who can make a real difference by delivering an excellent financial accounting service to the Association including housing fixed asset and grant accounting, VAT returns, and the provision of a payroll service.

About the role

Hightown currently manages over 7,500 homes and has a programme to build over 450 affordable homes each year. You`ll manage a Senior Finance Officer to ensure that the Fixed Assets Database (RAM Database) is maintained and accurately reflects the changes in the Associations stock of properties. Youll also produce the quarterly and annual VAT return dealing with Partial Exemption calculation and the application of any Special Methods and Capital Goods Scheme.

Working alongside the Head of Financial Accounting, you will manage and support the delivery of a payroll function.
