Do you have proven experience in driving commercial and financial success in the commissioning and/or delivery of construction contracts?

Do you have the drive, passion, tenacity and influencing skills to optimise value and efficiency through our outsourced construction partnership?

About us

We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 8,500 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home, as we are determined to help improve the lives of our customers and our communities. As well as working hard to make sure our homes are high quality, efficient and adaptable, we also support people to gain employment, qualifications, financial confidence and stability. Looking ahead, Plan A encapsulates our ideas and a path to success, setting out 23 ambitious challenges which aim to deliver a brilliant customer experience through the provision of great homes, sustaining strong communities and building a successful future.

There is no Plan B. Equally, there is no Planet B. We have one world and it is the responsibility of every organisation and every person to act responsibly to protect Planet A from the harm inflicted by wasteful and toxic environmental processes.

About the role

As an experienced Commercial and Contracts Manager you will know that optimising achievement against financial, efficiency and customer performance targets is integral to success. This requires a relentless focus on maximising value, supporting managerial colleagues in assets, repairs, compliance and communities to achieve their goals through effective contract management.

We have adapted and modernised service provision with our partner Mears and continue to build on a long-standing collaborative approach to deliver the best services to our tenants. Moving forward the focus will be on addressing the challenges facing the housing and construction sector, delivering economic and environmental sustainability and using property and customer intelligence in an informed way to improve services.

About you

As an experienced and tenacious property/construction professional you will have outstanding commercial acumen, be a strong negotiator with excellent relationship management skills and will have the creativity and flair to break new ground in the way we maintain and improve our properties.

Highly analytical and credible with your peers you will be inspired by the fit between our values and your own and will be hungry to make your mark as a member of our talented departmental management team.

Professionally qualified to degree level (or HND qualified and prepared to undertake funded, independent study to this level) you will be supported to attain membership of RICS (or equivalent construction related professional body).
