Temporary, Part time - 22 hours per week

Closing Date: 28th January 2022 (12pm)

Do you have proven experience in managing governance and business assurance in the Social Housing sector and are ready for a new challenge?

Would you welcome the opportunity to work flexibly whilst ensuring that you develop successful relationships with our Executive and Senior Leadership Team and Board?

This is a highly desirable opportunity for an experienced manager who is eager to apply their acquired skills, knowledge and experience in a business-critical managerial role.

About us

We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 8,500 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home, as we are determined to help improve the lives of our customers and our communities. As well as working hard to make sure our homes are high quality, efficient and adaptable, we also support people to gain employment, qualifications, financial confidence and stability. Looking ahead, Plan A encapsulates our ideas and a path to success, setting out 23 ambitious challenges which aim to deliver a brilliant customer experience through the provision of great homes, sustaining strong communities and building a successful future.

There is no Plan B. Equally, there is no Planet B. We have one world and it is the responsibility of every organisation and every person to act responsibly to protect Planet A from the harm inflicted by wasteful and toxic environmental processes.

About the role

You will provide invaluable advice and guidance on internal governance protocols and social housing regulatory standards to the Board, Executive and Senior Management teams and through establishing robust systems and processes you will make an invaluable contribution to ensuring we maintain our grade 1 regulatory status in governance and viability.

The role will also involve supporting the management and mitigation of strategic and operational risks and business continuity planning, ensuring the organisation is best-placed to respond swiftly to sudden changes in the operating environment. Detailed knowledge and understanding of information and data governance is equally important in ensuring we are fulfilling our duties with care, pragmatism and good judgement.

About you

You will have proven experience of managing governance in social housing and will be well-informed about the latest developments in the legal, regulatory and socio-economic context to social housing provision.

Insightful, data-driven and analytical in your approach you will be able to forge relationships of trust and provide workable solutions that enable us to maintain the highest standards of integrity and good governance while flexing and adapting to business change in an agile way. Confident and articulate with strong influencing skills and a clear focus on enabling services to achieve their objectives, through robust and informed advice you will play an important role as we implement the next phase of our business plan in 2022.
