Do you have the vision, passion and drive to manage our financial inclusion service, providing much needed money support and advice to tenants to enable them to make informed choices about their income and expenditure and effectively manage and sustain their tenancies?

About us

We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 8,500 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home, as we are determined to help improve the lives of our customers and our communities. As well as working hard to make sure our homes are high quality, efficient and adaptable, we also support people to gain employment, qualifications, financial confidence and stability. Looking ahead, Plan A encapsulates our ideas and a path to success, setting out 23 ambitious challenges which aim to deliver a brilliant customer experience through the provision of great homes, sustaining strong communities and building a successful future.

There is no Plan B. Equally, there is no Planet B. We have one world and it is the responsibility of every organisation and every person to act responsibly to protect Planet A from the harm inflicted by wasteful and toxic environmental processes.

About the role

With your acquired skills, knowledge and experience of financial inclusion you will be able to make an impact from the get-go, designing and delivering service offers from welfare benefits advice to fuel and food support. Motivated by the opportunity to support tenants who are experiencing financial challenges, you will manage a team of Financial Inclusion Advisers to manage a complex and demanding caseload.

Equally critical will be your focus on leading the rents advice team to maximise income across all tenancies, ensuring that arrears performance targets are achieved.

About you

With proven success in a similar role you will have advanced knowledge of the economic, social and behavioural factors impacting on affordability in social housing. A self-starter with the ability to establish accessible and attractive service offers to tenants, you will be ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities this new role presents and will take ownership for transforming this service to deliver a brilliant customer experience.

As an effective manager, you will use your customer profiling skills and data-based insight to target and improve our services. Your knowledge of social security legislation and the Consumer Standards will ensure your team delivers vital support for our tenants whilst maximising rental income.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with evidence of continuing professional development across a successful career.
