We’re looking for someone exceptional who wants to make a difference and strives in a challenging environment. If you have a proven track record of sourcing and acquiring land with experience of managing the acquisition process from identification, diligence, offer, contract, purchase, planning, through to pre-start on the sites, join us as a New Business Manager (Land & Acquisitions).

In this exciting new role, you’ll lead on securing a programme of sites within a region for development for a range of tenures, including commercial operations. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and securing new development opportunities to deliver Optivo’s growth targets and for the acquisition of land and securing planning consents and partnership deals, ready for the Construction team to procure construction contracts. You’ll also appraise schemes and produce reports for officer level groups and Committees to secure approval to enter into contracts. You’ll liaise with all internal client departments (construction, sales and marketing, operations, asset, finance governance) to secure agreement to acquire sites and ensure competing priorities are resolved.

What you'll need
You’ll have experience of maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, local agents as well as landowners in order to have a good steer on what sites are available in the area. You’ll have experience of sourcing and securing land for developments with responsibility overseeing site appraisals, acquisition approval and obtaining planning consent on plots. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form long relationships with vendors, developers, consultants, valuers, local authorities and other key partners. You’ll be skilled at securing new business opportunities in a highly competitive environment, being able to produce and interpret KPIs and Management Information to support the comprehensive growth of your team.

You will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. You’ll need to live our one team culture.
