We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer.

You will also be working to provide a high-quality Face to Face customer experience by proactively undertaking inspections and carrying out home visits.

Duties of a Housing Officer:

  • Lead on undertaking all visits and inspections to Partners properties and communal areas as required and as directed by the Housing Advisors to deliver contractual performance and in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maximise tenancy sustainment by supporting vulnerable residents; coordinating crisis intervention and ensuring resident are linked into the widest range of support.
  • Provide a customer focused and responsive service in managing a caseload of leasehold and tenancy management issues, ensuring they are dealt with swiftly and effectively in accordance with contractual requirements and policies and procedures.
  • Complete relevant actions in the tenancy change processes – successions, assignments, mutual exchanges and reports of unauthorised occupation - in accordance with contractual requirements and customer expectations.
  • Present cases for court action and represent Partners, Islington Council, and The Hyde Group at court and eviction, liaising with solicitors where appropriate.
  • Manage a case load using our Housing Management database, working closely with the Housing Advisors, to ensure service standards are adhered to
  • Ensure maximum benefit is gained from interactions with residents for the individual and the business, taking opportunity to broaden the conversation to unearth underlying issues and then making such external agency referrals as appropriate.
  • Take prompt action on all reports of squatters.
  • Contribute to the annual contractual tenancy audit programme.
  • Facilitate access to leasehold and tenanted properties for the heating and repairs teams to ensure they can carry out all repairs and gas safety inspections, including attending all forced entries.
  • Attend resident/community group meetings, including evening meetings, and other out of hours work as required.

About you:

  • Previous experience working in Property Management or Housing.
  • Flexibility to work across the Brent Borough.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be willing to provide more visibility on our estates and increase confidence amongst our stakeholders.
