Job Details

Bury are ambitious to be one of the best boroughs in Britain in which to live, work and study and are characterised by strong local communities, a thriving local economy with mixtures of sector leading businesses and a retail offer which is complimented by outstanding local schools and Further Education offer.

There is circa £1/4 bn investment of regeneration in the borough and having recently secured £40M from the government levelling up funds, we are making huge investments.  We want to create housing choices that support local affordability whilst also bringing choice that attracts local and international inward investment supporting sustainable economic growth.

Our new Housing Strategy sets out the scale of housing issues and challenges facing the borough, providing a clear direction of travel to deliver a balanced and diverse housing supply and an opportunity to create successful and inclusive neighbourhoods that everyone can be proud of.  As our new Director of Housing this all provides a great opportunity to lead our ambitions and make a significant impact in the borough.

In this role you will report directly to the Chief Executive having overall strategic lead for the borough in all matters relating to the Council's Strategic Housing including policy and strategy; homelessness and housing options; private sector housing; disabled adaptations; and be the client for the Council's ALMO.

This role is a great opportunity to help us make Bury one of the best boroughs in Britain. If you have a vision for what we can accomplish and want to be part of our journey, then please make contact with our retained consultant Kelly Shaw on 07900 363803 or email kelly.shaw@campbelltickell.com
