What you'll be doing

As part of the Performance and Insight team, you'll lead on the development of Curo’s new data analytics later, a data warehouse that pulls the key data required for onward business intelligence and KPI reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring the data design and architecture support both the strategic and operational requirements of the business and deliver value  through small ‘Agile’ projects.

You'll be the business’s subject matter expert in data science and utilise these skills to support key business decisions. This will include developing predictive models through deployment of machine learning, alongside other advanced statistical techniques to help Curo use its data more effectively.

You’ll work within a small team made up of Insights Analysts, providing knowledge share on data engineering and data science concepts enabling the team to develop and grow.

More about you

We are looking for a data scientist with data engineer capability to help us build our business intelligence and analytics aspirations. You’ll have experience of data warehousing within SQL and be confident in building models that analyse large volumes of data within Python using its data science libraries.

You’ll be proactive in identifying new insight, able to evidence a creative approach to problem solving and have good attention to detail.

You’ll have strong communication skills and experience of presenting complex analysis clearly. You’ll also have experience of developing effective partnerships with teams and be able to collaborate with colleagues to ensure the BI and insights that we deliver are embedded.

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to take ownership for our new Data Analytics layer. The autonomy in developing this infrastructure from the ground up will create previously untapped insight and the new capability will support the team’s ambition to scale and grow.

At the same time you will demonstrate resilience and the desire to work in an interesting environment where no day is ever the same!

When and where you'll be doing it

You’ll be based in our Head Office at The Maltings in Bath, Monday-Friday, with flexibility of working remotely.

What will you get in return?

We think you’ll have a job that makes you feel good about what you’re doing – you will make a difference to our customers’ lives every day.

You’ll get:

  • A day’s leave on your birthday
  • 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 after 3 years’ service
  • Opportunity to earn performance related pay
  • Company Pension contribution of up to 10%
  • Flexible Benefits including health care, gym membership, buying holiday
