Fire Safety Business Partner

Hybrid location: working from home or one of our regional hub offices in Teesside

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary Circa £44,500 plus brilliant benefits

You will be an important member of our highly respected and specialist health and safety team. We are pretty awesome (if we say so ourselves) we’ve just been awarded our 5^th (!!) consecutive ROSPA Gold award! Critical to making the service we deliver a success; are the strong relationships we’ve developed across the wider business and with our external partners.  

We are super passionate about developing and implementing the Health and Safety strategy, plan and policies for Home Group so that there is a clear framework, that drives compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

About you
As our Health, Safety and Fire Business Partner you will be responsible for conducting high quality fire risk assessments, including complete descriptions of any required remedial actions. You’ll conduct pro-active high-quality health & safety audits of our housing and supported sites.

You’ll be responsible for root cause analysis of accident/incident investigations, completing comprehensive investigation reports. You’ll assist in writing health, safety and fire policies and procedures including guidance notes.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So it's really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It’s important to us that you have experience of working in health, safety and fire within a housing or care environment. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

In order to keep us right and protect our business and customers, it’s critical that you hold NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH fire risk management, IFE/IFSM fire risk assessor, BRE Fire door inspection and BRE passive fire protection level 1.

You need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use

Our manager is Irusha, who is new to Home Group and enjoys playing cricket. There are 12 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Where you’ll work
You’ll work across parts of Scotland and North East of England but you will have specific responsibility for our properties and services within Newcastle, Teesside, Edinburgh and Dundee . You will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy. The great news is that you’ll have the chance to shape your own diary, however you will likely spend around 3 days or so per week on the road, and working from home the rest of the time. 

Working hours
It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!
