Keeping services safe and secure for our customers. Connecting People Building Futures!
We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our team. We’re looking for a Night Support Worker to come and join us as our lone working night support worker. Full time averaging 37 hours per week (part time hours will be considered) covering various overnight shifts including weekends. You’ll be the important link connecting our day shift colleagues to what happens in the service during the night hours.
You will be based at services in Huddersfield and Heckmondwike. This would be working to a four weekly rolling rota which would include weekend and bank holiday working. As such, this is an excellent opportunity for those who prefer a varied work pattern and not the usual nine to five lifestyle
As our Night Support Worker you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!
You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include regularly checking the building and surrounding area. Ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers during the night and we’ll also need you to do general cleaning duties too.
Our team look after our customers some of whom have some quite complex backgrounds and support needs. They may have mental health support needs, have been homeless, or have histories of substance or alcohol dependence.
About our team
Although you’ll work nights, we do get together in the daytime for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.
You will report to the Team Leader, who is a great source of support and guidance.
About you
You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative. You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives.
You’ll have experience working with young people, or other vulnerable clients, your insight and empathy are part of your passion to deliver excellent services that really do help people change their lives. You’ll be taking part in:
- developing and maintaining positive relationships with the young people,
- development and delivery of group activities for people accessing the service
- Be an effective communicator, work under your own initiative and under pressure
Work as part of a skilled and experienced team to help and support young people with multiple and complex needs. It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!
As an equal opportunity employer, we recruit based on experience, attitude and values. Connect are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the communities we serve therefore we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
