Hackney Council is passionate about its housing stock, and committed to continue to maintain and enhance its homes and estates in both the short term and into the future. The guiding principles for investment are defined in the Council’s new Housing Asset Management Strategy 2019-2027. This document also sets the ambitions for the quality of our varied housing stock, ranging from Victorian street properties and pre-war mansion blocks to tower blocks on large estates. This is an exciting time to join Hackney and contribute to the strategy’s aim of homes in which people want to live and are proud of.

Our Property and Asset Management service is changing to enable the team to achieve the delivery of the capital programmes necessary to achieve the ambitions set in the strategy. We are looking for a Senior Customer Relationship Officer who will lead on resident engagement for these programmes. We want to ensure that all residents can be involved in our proposals to improve their homes. This is a demanding role, which will incorporate significant service development to deliver a high quality service.

As a Senior Customer Relationship Officer you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering accessible information, consultation and engagement service involving all affected residents and stakeholders in relation to the development and implementation of housing investment programmes. You will act as a key point of contact for key stakeholders both internally and externally.  You will also lead on administrative support to the wider Contract Delivery team. You will lead a team of support officers.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in customer engagement, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You will have a track record of  service improvement, preferably in a housing context. You will have a track record of delivering to demanding targets on complex programmes, which also incorporate resident ambitions for their homes. Importantly, the successful candidate will be passionate about social housing, and will demonstrate the ability to lead staff by example, and work effectively within multi-disciplinary environments.
