The Mill Street Housing Society is looking for a manager.  It is a permanent, part time role based at the office in Fordington, Dorchester, Dorset.

The Society was formed in 1931. It is charitable and owns 40 sheltered flats and 50 family houses that are rented to local people.

The Society employs a managing agent to deal with the day-to-day repairs, major works and tenancy matters.

 The person must be self-motivated, able to work on their own with good communication, organisational and IT skills with a conscientious, flexible and responsible attitude. 

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Management Committee and Managing Agent to provide a first-rate, value for money service. 
  • Line managing and advising the Warden and Relief Warden
  • Dealing with the administration of the Society and staff, including financial monitoring, payment of invoices,
    co-ordinating the audit, ensuring that insurances are in place and legal requirements are complied with, writing and updating policies, taking responsibility for health and safety and the website.

Experience

Previous experience in social or private rented housing would be an advantage but not essential.
