We’re looking for a Retrofit / Renewables Surveyor to join our team based in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
We’re looking for someone who can help us to develop clear low carbon design and fabric first retrofit standards for new and existing homes, ensuring low carbon in use and reduced running costs for customers. You’ll design and deliver a retrofitting programme including supply chain engagement, contract and grant management support and undertake research of new legislation and best practice to inform new build and existing home specifications, technical standards and archetypes.
Further to this you’ll work with internal customers and external stakeholders to produce technical standards with a low carbon/energy efficiency focus for use in the design, procurement and delivery of new build homes and works to existing homes and improve technical standards to enable the use of new products and technologies in customers’ homes.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has an understanding/knowledge of retrofitting standards e.g PAS2035 and Future Homes Standard.
- Holds a DEA qualification or equivalent knowledge
- Has a commitment to low carbon specification development and sustainable procurement.
- The ability to solve problems and meet delivery expectations – to be flexible and adaptable and able to respond to situations creatively.
- The ability and willingness to make a positive contribution to team culture and to inspire and gain the confidence of others
- Has a high degree of integrity, be self-confident and self-motivated, be able to use your own initiative and manage, enthuse and motivate others.
Your experience:
- Experience/knowledge of low carbon build and fabric first retrofitting standards/measures, building pathology, quality control process and methods of construction.
- Strong knowledge of building legislation, CDM and maintenance management best practice. CIOB / RICS / HNC building surveying / construction professional standard or equivalent.
- Experience of using intelligent energy data systems or other analytical asset tools
