Senior Contracts Manager (Housing Development)

Salary: £41,473 – £45,519

Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire

Permanent, Full time

37 hours per week 

 

Reporting to the Head of Investment & Regenerations, our Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for cost control and forecasting across the directorate to ensure accurate delivery of the maintenance revenue (£2m) and capital improvement (£20m) annual budget.

 

We’re looking for someone who can manage all commercial rate agreements with contractors and subcontractors at appointment, on commission and ongoing rate negotiation to ensure costs are competitive and reflective of the market. You’ll also take responsibility for cost forecasts, task order allocation, agreement of valuations, rate negotiation and final accounts, processing of contractor invoicing for planned maintenance contract £100m over 5-year term. You’ll develop, maint, and regularly report commercial performance indicators for external contractor, sub-contractor, and in-house financial performance to inform either external or internal delivery to achieve optimum value for money.

  • Has a high degree of integrity, be self-confident and self-motivated, be able to use own initiative and manage, enthuse and motivate others.
  • Is assertive, observant, co-operative, flexible analytical, able to negotiate and deal with possible conflict
  • The ability to lead and motive investment teams
  • The skills and ability to work with contractors to achieve common goals.
  • Has commitment to a customer focused service and be able to provide guidance to clients 

     

Your experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Commercial Manager or Managing QS or Senior QS with a contractor, developer or registered provider of social housing working on complex, high value construction projects
  • Relevant degree - BSc Quantity Surveying
  • Professional membership of RICS
