Senior Housing Strategy & Development Officer

Employer
East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Location
Blended/Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire
Salary
£33,486
Closing date
29 May 2022

East Riding of Yorkshire has seen an increase in the delivery of homes since the Local Plan was adopted in 2016 with over 1,500 being delivered in 2020/21.  Unfortunately, our affordable housing delivery hasn’t seen the same increased delivery, therefore we seek an individual who is open to a challenge and will bring with them new ideas on delivery.  This role sits within the Housing Strategy and Development Team and will be a varied role that also allows for some work on policies and strategies to support the overall delivery of the Housing Strategy objectives.  This includes the Housing Strategy itself which is being reviewed and updated this year.

We seek a positive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and the motivation to deliver in this rewarding and challenging role.  You should have a housing degree or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of housing legislation.

A good working knowledge of local authority processes would be beneficial with excellent organisational and communication skills as liaising across the council and with external partners including registered providers is a key part of this role.

This large Unitary Authority will give you an excellent insight into a wide range of housing considerations across urban and rural settlements with coastal towns and villages to consider as well.

The council aims to promote a modern workforce and therefore the role will provide flexibility with working from home and in the office as required.

For an informal discussion please contact Nicola Sworowski, Forward Planning Housing Strategy and Development Manager, email nicola.sworowski@eastriding.gov.uk or tel 07815 654268.
