Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives – that’s when it hits home.

As our Estate Compliance Officer, we’re responsible for keeping our customers safe with our robust Health & Safety and compliance procedures whilst ensuring great customer satisfaction. It’s a great “Out and About” role where you will spend most days visiting Home Groups Properties.

About you
As an Estate Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for the safety of our customers and staff by carrying out regular fire alarm and emergency lighting checks. It’s important to us that you have worked in a safety inspection environment and have some knowledge of estate visits and basic fire safety requirements. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help you understand how things work at Home Group!

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which includes personal safety devices, a Surface Pro and a mobile so it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

Where you’ll work in this job
Ideally, you will be based in or around Reading or the Guildford areas. The Reading area encompasses sites predominately in the RG postcodes but with several sites in Oxford and Witney in the OX area.

For the Guildford area this encompasses sites predominately in the GU and PO postcodes.

You will have responsibility for our properties and buildings within these areas. The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use! Best of all you’ll have the chance to shape your own diary.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside David who is our manager and the rest of the Estate Compliance team, there's 10 of us and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We are all super passionate about Health, Safety, and compliance to ensure our customers are kept safe and have a nice place to live.

Working hours in this job
To meet the needs of our customers, we need to be flexible. This means you’ll work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days, Monday to Friday between 8am – 6pm. As we’re asking you to be flexible for us, we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you meaning you can build up flexi-time for those appointments or family gatherings you don’t want to miss!

Be yourself at Home
Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We’re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, together we make Home Group a great place to work!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Standard Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
