DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance Lead

Newcastle upon Tyne

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary circa £40,000 pa, negotiable based on skills and experience, plus great benefits!

Supporting the business through technology and innovation. That’s when it hits home.

In this brand-new role to Home Group, you’ll join our Information Systems department as our in house Compliance Lead. You’ll take responsibility for managing and controlling IS risk and audit action plans across the department. You’ll also ensure we undertake all activity we need to deliver in support of Home Group’s wider compliance requirements.

You’ll lead the Information Governance Security Group, to ensure that we achieve continued compliance to Home Group wide ISO 27001, and other relevant accreditations. You’re accountable for leading the business to deliver the required actions and take Home Group successfully through ISO 27001 audits to maintain this business critical accreditation.

About you
You’ll use your proven high levels of stakeholder management and strong communication skills to provide assurance up to audit committee and the executive, that IS manage ongoing compliance and are effectively managing our audit actions and risks.

You’re highly organised, and able to manage a large and varied portfolio and report upon progress to provide assurance of our ongoing compliance. You’re also able to step in and manage our IS portfolio in the short term.

You’ll have experience in preparing for, attaining and retaining ISO 27001 certification. You’ve partnered with the business and internal auditors and other vested parties to prepare for audits and have hosted and manged external audit visits.

You’re also adept at communicating to diverse technical and non-technical audiences in clear common language and know how to ensure those with limited knowledge of technical or audit principles understand risk and threat to the business.

About our team
Working in partnership with Ruth our Head of Portfolio Manager, you’ll join her small but perfectly formed team. Ruth is currently in her second stint at Home Group (she loved it so much she came back!) and outside of work Ruth enjoys the occasional gin, which is an essential requirement of any parent raising teenage children!

IS have had a real focus on their “Getting Organised” strategy: so much to do and never enough people! This team makes sure we have the right people in place with the right skills to deliver the right things for the organisation and then everyone is happier!

We’re a compact but growing team and you will be a key player and echo the value; we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Where and when you’ll do your job

This is a hybrid working role, for us that means you’ll largely be working from home, but you will be expected to pop into our head office on a weekly basis. You will also be required to visit our remote sites on an occasional basis.

Our offices are currently in Gosforth Newcastle upon tyne, but later this year we move into our brand spanking state of the art building in the Toon, close to StJames Stadium.

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

Be yourself at Home

Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We’re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, together we make Home Group a great place to work

Do let us know if you’d like us to make any adjustments to support you in your application!
