Job Details

We're looking for a Sustainability Manager to join our Development team at Latimer.

Latimer Homes is the development arm of Clarion Housing Group. We exist to build homes and create communities, playing our part in tackling the housing crisis.

What sets Latimer apart is our long-term commitment to the people who live in our homes. Our model is not to build and then move onto the next site. We are long-term stewards of place, committed to building sustainable and thriving communities.

We are part of a social business, reinvesting our profits back into building more affordable homes and supporting Clarion residents.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide support for the development directorate in the field of sustainability; assisting the Latimer Sustainability Lead in the Design, Technical and Innovation department in delivering Clarion's Sustainability targets and ambitions.

We'll look to you to support project teams creating and delivering sustainable development strategies and to support Clarion's strategic objectives in the following manner:

  • Build a successful, respected, and influential national business through its sustainability strategy.

  • Build new homes and successful communities in a sustainable manner.

  • Maintain our financial resilience through planning for a sustainable future.

  • Exploit new sustainable technology and innovation.

You'll also be responsible for assisting in research trials of innovative products, systems and approaches and managing sustainability related data collection systems, including the BRE Smartwaste system, across all new-build projects, and use the data to produce regular reports for the Development Leadership Team and Development Board.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will come to us with degree level qualification in a sustainability, energy or construction related subject paired with working knowledge of sustainability related issues in construction.

You'll have working knowledge of Building Regulations, especially those related to energy and sustainability, as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) benchmarking and reporting requirements. We're also looking for experience of the construction process from initial concept designs to handover/occupation.

What you can expect from us

Here at Clarion we're dedicated to rewarding hard work and commitment and providing benefits that support you and your lifestyle. As standard we offer;-

  • Competitive salaries that are benchmarked regularly against current market rates

  • Initial 25 Days annual leave (plus bank holiday), increasing to 30 days after 3 years' service.

  • A flexible benefit scheme tailored to you, inclusive of healthcare options, dental insurance, restaurant card and cycle to work along with 1% of your salary to spend on whichever approved benefit you like!

  • Matched pension contributions of up to 7.5% of your salary with generous life assurance

  • Flexible and agile working for the majority of our employees

Other perks

  • Company Bonus Scheme

  • Eye care vouchers

  • Holiday trading scheme allowing you to buy and sell leave

  • Free counselling and legal advice scheme for you and your family

  • Interest free loans for season ticket and study leave

Our commitment to equality and diversity means that we are keen to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, including but not limited to part-time working and job share, enhanced maternity, adoption and paternity leave, and compassionate leave.
