DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
IS Housing Applications Analyst
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary circa £35,000 pa negotiable based on skills and experience, plus great benefits

Supporting the business through technology and innovation. That’s when it hits home

We’ve got a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as our IS Housing Application Analyst. The great news is that we aren’t looking for a “ready made” superstar. While we are keen to have a fully fledged analyst join the team, we know that there will be awesome colleagues out there in the business who will have some great transferrable skills. You will have the chance to develop and progress your skills to become our superstar in due course!

As an IS team we are setting out to be more digitally focussed, using the latest technologies, whilst ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is set, our direction is clear. What comes next is to apply our skills and experience through brilliant team work to innovate, design, and implement systems that deliver real business value. We’ve got an excellent team foundation to build upon as our technical portfolio develops and expands; that’s where you come in.

With 10 enthusiastic and dedicated colleagues, we support the Housing Applications and Oracle e-Business suite applications for our circa 3500+ Home Group colleagues.

In this great job you’ll support the Open Housing system, as well as extending or adapting the functionality of the system for current and future modules. You'll also be a key resource on major system upgrades. As our “Open Housing Expert” you’ll also support the team to enhance their capabilities and spread expertise through knowledge transfer and coaching.

You’ll be our system expert for the Capita Open Housing Application on issue resolution, alongside the other Housing Application Analysts within the wider IS department and external partners.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the functional Open Housing configuration to ensure they fit the agreed business processes. This will include identifying development opportunities, efficiencies and simplifications and keeping the system on the application roadmap

Be yourself at Home
Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We’re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, together we make Home Group a great place to work.

Do let us know if you’d like us to make any adjustments to support you in your application!

About you
We would love you to have been involved in the design and delivery of end-to-end system implementations or enhancements  from gathering requirements with business colleagues, defining solution options along with estimated efforts and pros/cons, through to involving technical colleagues, supporting unit testing, facilitate user acceptance testing, delivering functional documentation, handing over solutions to wider support teams.

However, we are flexible for the hiring level of this role and as such an involvement with any IT Housing Systems or experience with functional design of any IT systems would be considered.

It is important that you have great people and communication skills and an attitude and aptitude to learn quickly. You’ll also use your partnership skills to work with the business and support us to deliver a great service.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are passionate about supporting our user base to get most out of our systems. To us we're not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Irina our manager is a bit of a polyglot, who just loves playing strategy games like Go, Bridge and Chess! There are 10 of us in the team and we don’t just support the business and our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Where and when you do your job
Here at Home Group we believe flexibility works both ways. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours! It’s important to us that you’re in the office so we can work collaboratively and share best practices amongst the team.

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off.

You’ll be equipped to work in our high-tech organisation in an agile fashion with the latest IT kit which includes you being issued with a surface pro tablet and smart phone.
