Job Details

Position: Head of Transformation
Location: Oldham
Salary:  circa £60,000
Duration: Permanent

First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is an ambitious Housing association that has a core purpose to create Homes they are proud of and to deliver their vision of Improving Lives.  FCHO have pivoted their service and created two new roles in order to bring real focus, accountability and remove any obstacles and complexity in order to ensure these aims are met.  One of these roles is the Head of Transformation which is created to deliver a number of transformation projects and initiatives, to secure sustainable changes in systems, processes and culture at FCHO.

This is where you come in.

Following the appointment of a new Chief Executive last year, FCHO has been on an upward trajectory- improving its reputation with its customers, its staff and the wider community.  This trajectory is underpinned by numerous projects, programmes and initiatives across the entire organisation and you would be required to co-ordinate and deliver these in a timely and efficient manner.

The improvements required are largely plotted out- you would be required to take those projects and bring the right people together, at the right time and ensure the right things are delivered.

You don’t need to have Project Management qualifications (although that can also be useful), as long as you can prove your ability and tenacity to oversee multiple projects and see them through to a successful completion.

What would be on your to-do list?

  • Establish a programme management approach to deliver the annual portfolio plans.
  • Create a team with the relevant skills, experience and attitudes to be successful as the FCHO Programme Management Office (PMO).
  • Develop a FCHO house style for tracking and expediting projects in a way that is flexible but rigorous.
  • Coordinate activities across all of the PMO to ensure that resources are effectively deployed and sequenced.
  • Lead the Business Intelligence team to create customer insight from a range of data and information so that services can be better shaped to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain an overview of how all the projects are aligned and connected so that the complete system works with synergy and integration.

Why might you be interested in the role?

  • You’re an experienced and confident senior leader, who is authentic and credible.
  • You have strong technical skills and experience in delivering change and transformation.
  • You have strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills to ensure you work exceptionally well with colleagues, partners, Board Members and customers.
  • You have the drive and passion for continuous improvement and enjoy working at pace with colleagues across the whole business.
  • You can be an inspirational leader across the whole of the business, displaying the values of FCHO with a relentless passion for delivering excellent customer service.
