We are looking for a new Non-Executive Board Member with either Development, Land Buying or Construction experience to join us here at Thrive Homes. Over the past 18 months the Board and Executive Team have worked to establish the new strategic ambition and vision of growing from 5,000 to a portfolio of 10,000 homes and properties for the local communities. As we continue with our ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Board Member who can bring something different to our organisation. For these new Board appointments we require candidates experienced in either Development, Land Buying or Construction; this could be from either a Residential, Commercial or Capital Projects background.

You do not need to have previous housing experience, but you will need to understand what it means to be a Non-Executive.

The term for this appointment is up to 6 years and will require yearly attendance to 8 meetings, 2 strategic away days and 1 webinar every month. 20 hours per month is adequate over the course of the year. You will subsequently be rewarded with a £5,596 per year allowance.

Board members contribute their skills, experience and judgement to the Board, its committees and support the Executive team, creating the conditions to ensure the success of Thrive Homes and its subsidiaries. The Board enable effective decision-making and challenge, working in a collaborative and constructive style.

Working with Non-Executives and Executives to develop and steer the strategic direction of the organisation, fostering its culture of innovation and creativity enabling Thrive to do things differently when that is in its best interests. To also ensure it is governed in line with good practice, that we meet all legal and regulatory obligations and inspires a culture of integrity and openness.

Requirements:

  • Previous and proven experience in a non-executive capacity
  • Deep experience in either Development, Land Buying or Construction
  • We are open to Residential, Commercial or Capital Project backgrounds
  • You will have an ability to strategically examine what the Executive team are bringing to the table and support/take the group forward.
  • You will be commercially focused and want to bring your commercial experience.
  • You must be able to attend meetings and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per month to the organisation.
