At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that’s who we’re doing it for – the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you’ll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.
Do you have a passion for housing and ensuring our customers get the service they deserve?
We are looking for an experienced and committed individual to help shape our improvement journey to becoming a high performing social landlord.
You will have experience of working under pressure at a senior level and demonstrate a strong track record in service improvement.
Detailed knowledge of social housing landlord and tenant law and a relevant professional qualification is preferred.
Your next role
Reporting to the Director of Housing, you will lead a busy and diverse housing management team, contributing towards giving our tenants the best possible chance to thrive, not just in their tenancy but also in their neighbourhoods. This means ensuring our residents receive the support they need.
This is a diverse service area covering both general purpose and supported housing, including sheltered housing and a community alarm service (Homeline). The team also delivers services to our gypsy and traveller site.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be creative and innovative, able to work effectively with senior managers responsible for their portfolio of responsibilities and with relevant partner agencies as well as having excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Your next package
Please see our Rewards and Benefits offer for more details.
For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon by 2030 together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.
