Salary: £38,938 - £44,501 per annum

Job Location: Manchester or Stevenage - (hybrid working between home, office and site)

Hours: 36 per week

Contract Type: Permanent

We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Safety Officer to join our friendly and professional Health & Safety Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by providing operational and technical safety advice and guidance across a variety of subject areas covering our people, our properties and our residents.

About us

Clarion is a business for social purpose that exists to improve people's lives.

Our mission is to deliver good quality, affordable homes and neighbourhoods to people failed by the market. We harness the benefits of being Britain's largest social landlord to maximise social value whilst delivering homes to some 350,000 people across the country.

All of our surplus is reinvested in our homes and communities, and our social impact ranges from helping thousands of people into work and lead economically active lives through Clarion Futures, establishing a partnership with the St Mungo's charity to combat homelessness, to embedding sustainability across the whole of our business.

We enjoy a strong reputation of being a respected and ethical organisation that delivers for people and their communities.

Clarion at a glance

  • 125,000 homes across the country
  • £944m turnover in 2020/21
  • £258m operating surplus in 2020/21
  • Rated G1/V1 by the Regulator of Social Housing, the highest rating for financial viability and governance
  • A record 2,126 new homes built in 2020/21
  • £107 million delivered in social value through the work of our charitable foundation in 2020/21

What you can expect from us

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, we'll provide you with opportunities to further develop both your technical and personal skill set, through on-the-job learning as well as more formal training provision.

The role will be based from either our Manchester or Stevenage office, although a hybrid working approach between home, office and site will be in place.

About you

You'll be a qualified safety professional, with the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health as a minimum and able to demonstrate a firm understanding of UK health & safety legislation.

You'll have previous experience of a variety of property-related health & safety risk areas such as gas, electrical, asbestos, water safety etc. although this may not have been within the housing sector.

You'll have a keen eye for detail, a desire to learn and understand and an appetite for positive change.

If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Closing Date: Friday 10th June 2022 at midnight
