Can you help us deliver more high quality, affordable homes in Bristol to help ensure the city’s success benefits all our citizens? With a diverse and growing population, Bristol is regularly voted one of the best places to live in the UK - and we need to deliver more homes to tackle the crisis of housing affordability and supply that the city faces.

The Council’s Project 1000 Affordable Housing Delivery Plan 2022-25 sets out how we intend to focus our land, resources and influence to create a step change in the way Affordable Housing is delivered in Bristol, and significantly increase the delivery of high-quality market and affordable homes.  Project 1000 aims to accelerate delivery so that half of all homes delivered by the Council and its partners each year by 2024 are truly affordable for Bristol’s citizens.

Bristol City Council is embarking on its biggest affordable housing delivery drive for decades.  We have launched our Project 1000 Affordable Housing Delivery Plan 2022-25 and are looking to see the completion of 1000 Affordable Homes a year from 2024.

As well as supporting affordable housing provider partners through an active Enabling service and targeted capital funding, the Council also has ambitious council house building plans, and delivery through its housing development company, Goram Homes.

The Council’s Housing Delivery Team is looking to recruit an experienced Housing Programme and Funding Manager to help oversee and monitor all aspects of programme management and Homes England funding for the council house development programme, as well as administer the Council’s grant funding programme for third party providers.  The role will also work to maximise other grant funding opportunities for delivery, working with other Council Teams and external partner organisations to bring funding into the City.

You will ideally have experience of Homes England’s IMS system and Scheme Audit, be familiar with delivery programme management and appraisal tools such as Proval and Sequel, and have excellent capital budget management skills. You will have a good knowledge of affordable housing or other residential development finance and will be confident working with other Managers and across Housing Delivery Team to support the aims of Project 1000.

Your place of work will be City Hall, Bristol although the Council actively supports employees to work a flexible mix of home and office working to suit the needs of the Employee and the Team.
