Goodman Masson are delighted to be supporting an ambitious and forward thinking Social Housing Provider who are looking to looking for a proactive individuals to join their growing Building Safety team.
The Building Safety Manager will be required to contribute and to be supportive of the Building Compliance agenda and its senior leadership, covering the management of Asbestos and Building Services, as well as Fire and Structural Safety, with particular emphasis on our higher-risk buildings (HRB’s) and to work closely with those responsible for corporate Health and Safety and for Tenancy and Estate Management at senior level.
You will work with a team of Building Safety Managers and promote openness, trust and collaboration with residents and support the Accountable Person in the day-to-day management of fire and structural safety within our higher-risk buildings in accordance with the building’s safety case and safety case report, ensuring that the requirements of each Building Assurance Certificate are complied with.
You will have significant involvement and oversight on the management of all matters relating to the structural and fire safety of our HRB’s working with Building Compliance colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure that buildings are safe.
Key Responsibilities
- The safe operation and use of ‘in-scope’ High Risk Buildings (HRBs) as defined by the Building Safety bill and its associated and subsequent amendments, secondary legislation and regulations.
- You will develop and implement suitable arrangements to obtain assurances and confirmation that those managing, planning and/or working within our HRB’s all have safe systems of work and the necessary competencies in place so that operational activities or a lack of them, do not compromise the integrity of the buildings’ fire and structural safety.
- Ensure there are appropriate measures, training, awareness and communication regarding building safety for all stakeholders and that they fully engage with the principles of and requirements for, maintaining fire safety and structural integrity across buildings within scope.
