Salary

Closing date

Good resident engagement and participation is a top priority for Housing Services. Making sure that we involve our residents in improving our services and promote strong, sustainable communities is paramount. We have recently remodelled our resident participation service to match our aspirations and are now looking for enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to join our new team.

As a team leader in our new Resident Participation Team, you will oversee a small team responsible for further development of our involved residents’ groups, including resident training and development and capacity building. You will also play a pivotal role in making sure that residents can influence decision-making and scrutinise service performance in a meaningful way. You will demonstrate a real passion for promoting the inclusion of Hackney’s diverse communities and be committed to promoting innovation and resident empowerment.

To excel in this position, you will bring experience of working with residents successfully to promote service improvement and strong resident groups, preferably in a housing environment. You will need to demonstrate that you understand what good governance and resident scrutiny looks like, and have the ability to lead and adapt to change within the context of Hackney Council’s wider strategic objectives. Your track record will show that you understand the principles of good communication and engagement and can deliver outcomes that benefit residents in a fast paced environment. The role may suit someone with good experience of resident engagement who is looking for their first management opportunity in this area.

We are committed to providing a fair and inclusive workforce where all staff can achieve their full potential. We know that a diverse workforce at all levels also makes for a more creative and productive environment, bringing different experience, knowledge, and viewpoints. We would therefore like to encourage applicants who come from a diverse range of backgrounds to apply.
