Job Details

Oi!

Hopefully that got your attention. If so, can you do the same for us and get our stakeholders to sit up and take notice?

We need a brilliant communicator to help raise our profile with the outside world. You’ll need a good understanding of how the political and media worlds tick and a proven track record in getting news and information in front of people who count. Good contacts will obviously give you an edge. You’ll also need to be a true team player - someone who can get stuck in and help with team-wide projects too. And please don’t apply if you’re not at ease working in the digital domain.

Your work will help to make us stand out from the crowd with a high level of creativity and professionalism. Alongside this you’ll need to understand and appreciate the challenges that some of our customers face and how to encourage others to join forces with us to support them.

You’ll need to show us how you’ve got compelling, serious and people-focused stories into the media and that you can juggle multiple projects, write like a pro, spot a typo from 100 metres. You’ll also need to be comfortable experimenting with new tools and techniques and to be able to keep on top of what’s going on in the housing, policy and political world.

If you can also take a great photo or have strong skills in video production you’ll have plenty of opportunity to put those skills to use as well.

This is a rewarding, fun and varied role within a friendly, innovative and growing organisation that’s adding huge social value to families and communities across the East Midlands.

“Yeah, but what’s in it for me?”

If you’re successful, you’ll be joining a dynamic organisation with an amazing culture. We offer competitive benefits that include agile working, mileage, private healthcare options, discount schemes and with a big emphasis on health and well-being. You’ll also have great opportunities to grow and develop, personally and professionally, but the greatest reward will be knowing you’re helping people and communities across our region to thrive.

It’s an exciting time of change at Futures! Our main office is a state-of-the-art, flexible new workspace so you’ll have great technology, great people and a great environment around you. We’ll also provide you with an agile kit and access to Touchdown Points where you can plug in to a workstation, catch up with colleagues and attend local meetings.

We’re signed up to Harry’s Pledge, a campaign to support people who are working but also looking after a friend or family member who needs extra help. We know balancing work and caring is tough and that’s why we have an extra focus on supporting team members in this situation. To help, we organise regular virtual support groups, have an employee assistance scheme with 24/7 counselling, and offer flexible working from day one, helping you to stay happy at work and at home.

2021 we were awarded the coveted Investor in People Platinum award – the highest IiP accreditation. The award recognises organisations which are passionate about making sure that all employees get the best experience at work.

Company

We've been providing affordable homes and supporting people across the East Midlands for over 15 years. Our origins go back even further.

Our vision is to create great places, great services and great tomorrows.

We're a not-for-profit organisation registered with the Regulator of Social Housing and work within all the high standards and regulations expected of all housing associations. We currently meet the regulator's highest standards of G1/V1 (which are measures of the strength of our governance and finances).

We have more than 10,300 homes extending from Derbyshire down to the Daventry area and beyond. We have ambitious plans to invest over £190m in building new homes by 2024.

We help our customers through a range of services designed to help them live well and independently. This includes offering money and employment advice and providing extra support to older customers and those with special needs.
