Communications and Engagement Officer

Working with the team you will be the lead on communications and engagement. The programme area covers parts of Hertfordshire. The programme includes the delivery of strategic new growth areas with a minimum of 11,000 homes and 10,000 jobs and the delivery of significant new transformational infrastructure across the wider programme area based on its ambitious spatial vision.

The post holder will work within the team alongside team members from the councils, liaising with other communications and engagement officers across the three authorities, as well as strategic stakeholders identified by the authorities including key landowners.

The post holder will lead, shape and help deliver a multi-faceted communications and engagement plan appropriate to all of its audiences and the life of the programme; taking the lead on stakeholder engagement and management, public consultation exercises, media relations, publications, branding, investment marketing, website management, social media, campaigns, infographics to support programme management and other appropriate methods of engagement and communication.

The post holder must ensure that these services are delivered within the council’s framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control and legislative requirements. These services must support the programme team and council's planning, development and regeneration service, in delivering the corporate vision, values and strategic priorities of the council.  The post holder will also work in collaboration with other services, and senior management to ensure that services are joined up appropriately and are aligned to the achievement of the council’s aims and objectives.
