Salary: Up to £30,984
Salford / Hybrid working
Permanent, Full Time, 36 hours per week
The Governance and Policy Officer is part of a small team who ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and best practice requirements, seeking to make improvements and efficiencies to ensure the smooth running of key corporate functions and providing assurance that legislative requirements and good practice are embedded across the Group, ensuring the Group complies with the Code of Governance.
We work together to agree the working arrangements that work best for Salix and our colleagues, but due to the nature of this role we would require the successful candidate to work in the office at least one to two days per week.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Governance and Policy Officer for a position which plays a key role in supporting the delivery of first-class Governance arrangements within Salix Homes.
The Governance and Policy Officer will support in facilitating a governance culture that ensures the delivery of key objectives through compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements via an appropriate governance framework.
The Governance and Policy Officer will support the delivery of Governance activities including Board & Committee support, Company Secretarial support, Internal Audit, Business Support and Facilities Management.
The Governance and Policy Officer will support with the co-ordination of specific Governance projects as directed by the Governance Manager by undertaking research, benchmarking or best practice reviews, keeping abreast of social, political and economic developments and providing recommendations and/or solutions to change which could impact on Salix’s essential governance and compliance frameworks.
This role will also support in maintaining Salix Homes’ central policy and procedure library, liaising with Senior Managers to ensure that policies are reviewed and updated as required.

This role requires great communication and organisational skills, the ability to challenge and interrogate, provide reliable and informed advice and guidance and work accurately in a fast-paced environment. The role holder will need to be resilient, focussed and knowledgeable in these specialisms and provide clear, consistent and advice to colleagues and wider organisation ensuring the delivery of excellent Governance services.
