A bit about the role and person

35 hours per week, permanent

We are looking for an experienced BI developer to design and develop innovative solutions whilst supporting the overall data and information strategy.

As part of our new Data and Information Team, you will work closely with rest of ICT to ensure system consistency. You will also collaborate with our internal customers and business partners to provide technical support and identify new requirements.

The Data and Information Team is responsible for providing accurate information reports and visualisations for business users to make strategic and operational decisions and improvements. Information shall be served through accessible and easy to use tools derived from secure and GDPR complaint databases, information catalogues and web resources.

You will be equally at home in the front or back end of developing QlikView and can build sophisticated data models and also turn the data in these models into valuable and insightful information through carefully crafted visualisations.

Whilst we have key responsibilities and these can be found in the job description, there are certain things we will need from you:

  • Experience of working with QlikView/QlikSense
  • Proven work experience working with SQL Server databases (2005 and higher)
  • Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming
  • Experience in SSIS and SSRS development and working knowledge of design and building ETL processes.
  • Experience of working with Visual Basic/HTML
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools including Excel and Power BI
  • Degree educated or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Knowledge/working experience of Agile & ITIL best practices

 

Location

Here at Accent we’re a keen promoter of agile working and encourage the use of working from home where possible, as long as we meet our customer’s needs.

We’ll provide you with the equipment and software that you’ll need for the purpose of your role however it will be your responsibility to have an appropriate space to work from as well as a suitable broadband connection/provider.

There may be an expectation for you to work from site or attend meetings on a monthly basis and should you wish to work occasionally from any of our regional offices, you may do so on a hot desk basis which will need to be arranged via our online booking system

Salary

The spot salary for this post is £48,148 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all of the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.
