We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our really awesome Housing Team as our Community Housing Assistant. Your job in a nutshell, will be to make our customers happy! Here at Home Group, we don?t just provide our customers with a home, we build relationships with them. When those occasionally difficult or tricky situations do happen, our relationships make them easier to deal with.

As our Community Housing Assistant, you?ll collect rent, chase arrears, fill void properties, manage estates and deal with the anti-social behaviour in our community. However it?s so much more than that! It?s about working closely with your colleagues to make sure that where our customers need support, we help them to live their best lives!

You?ll support with generic Housing Management activities including arrears, void management, estate management, customer involvement, income management, lettings and other related tasks.

Where and when you?ll do your job

You?ll work across in Oxfordshire and will have responsibility for our properties, estates, communities and buildings in Oxford, Didcot, Thame and Witney.

The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we?ll give you the technical kit to make that easy.

In this mobile working and community-based job, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don?t worry, we?ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

You?ll manage your own diary and will work the occasional evening or weekend. However, flexibility works both ways. It?s the team?s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether it?s your partner?s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered we?ll work with you in what matters. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About our team

There are 2 of us in the local team, and 10 of us within the wider geographical team. We don?t just love to support our customers, we?re there for each other too!

Our senior manager Jacqui has been with Home Group for almost 16 years now, but you?ll report to Hannah, our Housing Manager. Hannah is an experienced Housing Manager with 14 years of experience working in the Housing Sector, so is perfectly placed to support you as you join. Hannah strives for customer satisfaction and is methodical and pragmatic. She never gets flustered and always knows exactly what to do, so you?ll be in safe hands!

About you

You?ll use your creative spark and keen eye for detail to ensure our properties and environments are safe secure and well managed, supporting our communities to thrive.

As our Community Housing Assistant, you?re naturally empathetic. You?re able to build rapport quickly and have a sound understanding of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. It would be brilliant if you have an understanding of housing management, housing law and universal credit too!

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You?ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
