About the Role

The Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) are seeking an experienced professional to help deliver inclusive environments. The role will require you to undertake access audits of existing buildings and design appraisal reviews of new developments or refurbishment projects, providing advice and recommendation based on current regulations and good practice. This is a great opportunity to work within a renowned consultancy with the opportunity to work on a variety of access projects.

About You

You are someone who is interested and knowledgeable in accessibility and inclusive design, looking to work in a leading company. The successful candidate will be passionate about what they do, and willing to promote our service.

You will be organised, proactive and be a confident user of Microsoft programs. You will need to know how to read and interpret architectural plans and have a working knowledge of current policies, Building Regulations and good practice guidance such as BS 8300 and the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide.

CAE have been a leading authority on inclusive design for over 50 years. We provide consultancy, training, research and publications on building design and management to meet all user needs, including disabled and older people. CAE pioneered the provision of access guidance for building designers based on collaborative research with disabled people. CAE is a leader in developing the case for designing for disabled people in inclusive design.
As recognised experts in the field CAE helps organisations meet their duties under the Equality Act 2010 through our research, consultancy, training and guidance publications.
