We have an opportunity for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist to join us.

Reporting to the Head of HR and Governance, you will be integral to working with staff, key stakeholders, and partners to help ensure that Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) and Colchester Borough Council (CBC) deliver on our Public Sector Equality Duty in full to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations across our workforce and residents.

The Role

Your role will involve promoting and embedding good practice in respect of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery, policies, procedures and projects. You will work with Senior Management on planning and ongoing support for the Equality and Diversity Staff Groups, developing an action plan for change for CBH and CBC which honours the voices of our colleagues.

This will ensure both organisations are more inclusive employers. You will also work closely with tenant and community engagement groups to ensure that tenants and community views and needs are properly represented and influence CBH and CBC policy.

You will have a track record of maintaining positive working relationships with peers and senior colleagues, both internally and externally. If you have a professional and sensitive approach, with an ability to deliver positive outcomes bringing people with you, then please consider applying.

· Excellent training, development, and progression opportunities

· Generous annual leave entitlement

· The opportunity to buy up to another 5 days holiday, subject to conditions

· Access to the Employee Assistance Programme

· Provision of a smartphone and laptop

· Free parking (for when you’re in the office)

· Discounted gym member
